As a family they are well known and respected in the New York area for their contributions to the public service, political, legal, educational, construction and cultural life of New York City. The McCabe's from Queens are a family of 14 children, 10 of whom survive today. The family has its roots in Counties Leitrim and Cork.

Gerard McCabe
As the guiding hand in his firm, McCabe & Associates, Gerard McCabe specializes in among other areas, Commercial Litigation, Construction Law, Labor Law, and Insurance Law. As President of the Irish American Building Society Gerard combines his enthusiasm and expertise to help guide the various committees in their common goal of making the IABS the premier Irish American Organization in the Tri-State area.

Formerly council to Assemblywoman Marge Markey, Gerard has served New York City well in a number of capacities, he is a former Assistant District Attorney for Kings County, has served in the ranks of New York's bravest as a firefighter and is also President of the Irish American Association of Queens. Gerard is married to Evonne and they have two children, Megan Brigitte.

Brian McCabe
Brian McCabe has given many years in service to the city of New York as a police officer and has had a distinguished career in the New York Police Department as both Detective and supervisor, having been involved in many high profile criminal investigations in the city. Brian attended St Theresa's school in Richmond Hills Queens before going on to St Francis Prep in Brooklyn. In his younger years he earned himself an impressive record in the Golden Cloves competition win- Detective Sergeant Brian McCabe of winning on numerous occasions. the NYPD giving his acceptance Now a Detective at the 13th speech having been honored at the Precinct in downtown Irish Northern Aid Testimonial Dinner held in New York in January. Manhattan, Brian is also responsible for the security arrangements for prominent Irish politicians in New York and serves as their liaison with the city and the NYPD during visits to the U.S. Brian is the father of Danny, Francis and Megan Rose.·
